Welcome to The Appellate Record

Welcome to “The Appellate Record,” the on-line news source, law review, law library and virtual watering hole for appellate lawyers and anyone else comfortable with their inner law nerd.
- Watch this space for legal news, court decisions, and developments particular to the civil appellate practice.
- Visit for links to the best and most interesting posts in the legal blogosphere--at least according to me.
- Come by for analysis and editorial opinion relevant to the state and federal appellate practitioner.
But for the good stuff, you’ll need to do more than just lurk on the blog. You'll need to participate.
This ought to be a place to catch up on the law, catch up with each other, learn something, and maybe even be entertained. My goal is to enable an on-line community of which I am only a part.
I say “only a part” because one blawger pecking away at a keyboard is not a community. If community is made, it will be a joint effort. Hopefully the tools for community are here. Poke around and see.
- Use the collection of free law library links.
- Keep up to date on RSS Feeds from the Supreme Court of Texas and the Fifth Circuit.
- Comment on things that intrigue you and engage your colleagues in discussion.
- Subscribe to the blog by e-mail or RSS feed.
- Enjoy the links to content that caught my eye.
- Send me tips to stuff that catches your eye.
In short, make this a regular stop. Pull up a chair to the virtual table. Introduce yourself. Take a sip of your organic free trade soy milk half/caff latte (or better yet, some real coffee) and ENJOY!
